These portraits were taken 03.01-03.08. I have heard other photogs says that they could spend years photographing India and the people there. I believe it, just eight days of shooting there and I feel I barely scratched the surface of what I planned on doing there. The culture is so deep and rich. Many times I found myself just observing and watching in awe unable to grab my camera to shoot. The people are gorgeous. I found that most of them love to be photographed, that is the reason why I decided to post portraits. I do have some loose photo stories from the journey that aren't ready to be shown yet, but when they are I will post them. I feel absolutely blessed to have been able to make the trip and see this beautiful country. The portraits were taken in Jaipur, Varanasi and a couple from Pushkar. I'd love to hear any feedback any of you readers have for me.

    Regards,

    Sean

Just love all of this!!! I keep looking for more. Its been awhile since I was in India, and I was thrilled to be brought back momentarily in such a vivid, poignant way

Nice, punchy images. You have been blogged at Tiffinbox - http://www.tiffinbox.org/

could you please be so kind and give some tips on your postprocessing workflow to such a punchy colours? theres should be more than just a general hue/saturation boost I guess.. thanks a lot!

Just awesome! I'm envious of your trip, Sean. I sooooo want to photograph India.

Your photos are absolutely captivating! My husband and I just returned from a 10 day trip to India 2 weeks ago and loved it. India truly is a "feast for the eyes"! You did an incredible job of capturing the essence of the people.

I've been a follower of your work now for the past few months. I cannot remember how I found your site, but I'm glad I did. The photographs that you've taken gives me a great sense of India. It unfolds like a wonderful story that I want to experience over and over again. Wonderful colors and terrific portraiture. I can only hope that somewhere down the line as a photographer that my future works will bring across the sense of wonder, joy, and amazement that you have done with this set.

wow. seriously moving work, dude. put together a book and i'll buy one :)

    great stuff, really.

just one thing: i find some shots too saturated - too punchy. of course, its a matter of taste.

These are great Sean. I'm really drawn to the little boy in the car for some reason...anyway- very nice- makes me want to shoot wide open too :)

I've really enjoyed looking at these. Thank you so much for sharing!

Beautiful work, Sean! Everything you shoot is incredibly well done. I look forward to the photo stories!

Sean, You've got some great portraits here. I love the look you've got getting in real close with a fast prime. Well done!

Wow Sean, you have some gorgeous photos in here! And when I say some, I mean all of them! Keep up the great work and I'll be waiting for more!

    Hey Sean,
    Gerard here (gsu.deviantart.com.
I've always liked most of your work, but this time you've outdone yourself. This work is absolutely incredible. I don't think i'm exaggerating here when i say some of these photos are magnum worthy and remind me of mccurry's work a lot.

my only complaint would be that most of the color photos are a bit too colorful for my taste, which makes them look a little bit surreal. a matter of taste :)

really good stuff. we want more.

Amazing shots, man, simply amazing. Makes me want to go myself! How did you come by the trip?

    Sean,
There is no doubt that you're an amazing amazing photographer. Your photos have grace, and an unputdownable appeal. You're simply awesome.
I can see here that you've captured only the rural parts of India. And as you've said, you've barely scratched the surface, hence, I'd like you to capture some aspects of the urban parts of India as well. You're a great photographer, and it would be amazing to see what you come up with then.
I was linked to your page by a fellow deviant, and trust me, I am more than just impressed. Your photos depict grace, and innocence. The colors you capture, the smiles, the expressions and faces, it just makes a viewer dream.
You're one of the photographers people dream of becoming like. Hats off to you.

    Truly,
    Ashesh Ambasta, New Delhi, India.

    you a bad mofo fosho

Hey Shaun, what to say that hasn't already been said? Simply amazing shots, I am extremely impresed. Added this to my RSS. On the subject of your colours, are you still using the totally rad actions in these? I checked em out, they seem cool, but I'm hesitant to blow $150 on them. Any feedback? Email me!
    Thanks!
    J.
